REASI: District Development Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek today chaired a Public Grievances Redressal Camp at Panchayat Ghar Thub, in Block Jij Bagli, to listen the grievances and demands of locals and review matters requiring the intervention of the government departments.
During the camp, the residents raised concerns regarding road connectivity, upgradation of schools and the need for a Veterinary Centre and a Primary Health Centre in the area.
Other demands included pending payments under the Jal Jeevan Mission, establishment of a Food Supply Centre, opening of a bank branch, early operationalisation of completed water lift schemes, provision of an ambulance, renovation of school buildings, construction of boundary walls, shifting of schools from the winter to the summer zone, filling of vacancies in educational institutions, development of playground and improved functioning of Anganwadi Centres.
The DDC gave them a patient hearing and called upon officers to undertake regular field visits and ensure the availability of staff in their respective areas. Stressing accountability in public service delivery, he asked departments to accord priority to public grievances and ensure their timely resolution through regular monitoring and follow-up.
He assured the residents that the demand for an ambulance would be addressed shortly. He also informed them that some road projects had already been sanctioned and work on these would commence soon. Pending road compensation cases, he said, would be resolved at the earliest.
On the demands for a playground and a health centre, the DDC asked residents to identify suitable land to facilitate the processing of proposals. He also assured them that the issue of poor mobile network connectivity in the area would be taken up for early resolution.
The DDC further asked departments to organise awareness camps to inform residents about various government welfare schemes and facilitate access to benefits for all eligible beneficiaries. He also urged residents to clear their pending electricity dues and cooperate with the administration in improving public service delivery.
Later, the DDC visited Government Middle School Thub, reviewed the available infrastructure and facilities. He asked the concerned departments to complete the approach road connecting the school with Panchayat Ghar and restore water supply without delay.
MLA Reasi Kuldeep Raj Dubey, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sushil Kesar, Chief Planning Officer Narinder Kumar, District Social Welfare Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Executive Engineers of the concerned departments, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, District Information Officer, Block Development Officer Jij Bagli and other officers were present during the camp.
