JAMMU: The Cluster University of Jammu has achieved a historic milestone by successfully conducting its first-ever Ph.D. Entrance Examination – 2025, organised under the aegis of the Office of Dean, Research Studies, in collaboration with the Office of the Controller of Examinations.
The initiative was carried out under the proactive guidance of Prof. K. S. Chandrasekar, Vice-Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu.
On this occasion, Prof. K. S. Chandrasekar, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, visited the Office of the Dean, Research Studies, to review the academic and administrative arrangements.
The Centre of Examination was established at the School of Engineering and Technology, Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, where candidates aspiring for doctoral research across multiple disciplines of the University appeared for the test.
During his visit, the Vice-Chancellor interacted with faculty members and examination staff, appreciating their collective efforts in ensuring transparency, efficiency, and smooth conduct of the examination.
He remarked that the commencement of the Ph.D. Entrance Examination marks a new chapter in the University’s research journey, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, inquiry, and academic excellence.
Prof. Dr. Satinder Kaur, Dean, Research Studies, briefed the Vice-Chancellor on the number of applicants in both Exempted and Non-Exempted categories, as well as the examination plan, alongside Assistant Deans Prof. Paramjeet Singh, Dr. Avtar Changotra, and Prof. Amjed Khan Bhatti (Co-Coordinator, IT Cell). She expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for his vision and encouragement.
The Controller of Examinations, along with supporting staff, also played a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of this landmark examination.
This initiative reflects the University’s growing focus on quality research, academic rigour, and transparency, aligning with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and positioning the Cluster University of Jammu as a rising hub of advanced research and higher learning.
