KUPWARA: On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, District Employment & Counselling Centre (DE&CC) Kupwara, in collaboration with the district administration, successfully organized a capacity-building entrepreneurship workshop/ mela at Polytechnic College, Karihama.
The event aimed to promote entrepreneurship, skill development, and self-employment opportunities among the district’s youth.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara, Javaid Naseem Masoodi inaugurated the workshop in presence of SDM Lolab Dr. Mudassir; Principal of Polytechnic College Kupwara, LDM, DE&CC, and Cluster Head.
Career Counselling Officer, delivered a presentation on Mission YUVA, detailing its objectives and benefits. Principal of Polytechnic College Kupwara followed with a comprehensive overview of collaborations between industries, skill-training institutions, and employment initiatives.
ADC inspected stalls set up by the Skill Development department, highlighting their achievements in training and capacity-building. A dedicated Mission YUVA registration stall was also set up to provide on-the-spot assistance to aspiring entrepreneurs.
In a key initiative, ADC distributed 16 sanction letters under Mission YUVA, totaling Rs.1.25 crore, to beneficiaries, marking a significant step toward supporting local entrepreneurs and boosting the district’s economy.
The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from over 200 attendees, including students, aspiring entrepreneurs, and community members. The event concluded with an interactive session encouraging proactive steps toward self-reliance and business development.
