JAMMU: British International School held its Annual Day celebration 2025 at the Police Auditorium, Jammu, showcasing a vibrant display of India’s cultural heritage through student performances under the theme “Rhythms of India – Where Every Step Tells a Story.”
The event was graced by Devyani Rana, MLA Nagrota, as the Chief Guest. Guests of Honour included Shri Haseeb-Ur-Rehman (DIG Railways, J&K), Salahuddin Ahmed (Sub Judge/Special Mobile Magistrate), Vivek Ponsha (Additional Secretary Home Department, J&K), Adv. Nirmal Kishore Kotwal (President J&K High Court Bar Association), Satish Kumar Sharma (Joint CEO Shrine Board Katra) and Arun Bangotra (Principal Government Polytechnic College Jammu). Several dignitaries from the legal and commercial sectors also attended as special guests.
The programme began with a ceremonial lamp lighting followed by a welcome address and Annual Report by Principal Indu Kapoor, highlighting academic achievements of the year. Managing Director Ajoy Gadhok also addressed the gathering, outlining future initiatives and the school’s commitment to holistic education.
A series of cultural presentations enthralled the audience, including Saraswati Vandana, School Song, Kindergarten performances, Taekwondo display, group songs, and a sequence of regional folk dances featuring Dogri, Kashmiri, Bihu, Lavani, Garba, Punjabi, Kathputli and Kalbeliya. A special Indian Army tribute received emotional applause.
Awards were presented to students for 100% attendance, discipline, behaviour, oration and other achievements. The school also honoured faculty members with Best Teacher and Best Supporting Teacher awards. Choreographers Akshay and Ankush were felicitated, and dignitaries were presented mementos.
In her address, the Chief Guest appreciated the students’ talent and the school’s efforts in nurturing cultural and academic excellence. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice Principal Mrs. Priyanka Katoch, followed by the National Anthem.
