JAMMU: CSIR–Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR–IIIM), Jammu, successfully concluded the second ‘Five-Day Skill Development Programme’ in a series during this month under CSIR Aroma Mission Phase–III, with a focus on empowering women through scientific training in cultivation of aromatic crops, value addition, product development and rural entrepreneurship. KISHTWAR: Security forces on Thursday busted a hideout and recovered one AK-47 rifle and ammunition in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, officials said. The recovery was made from the Berighouth-Dugadda area in the Chatroo area after a hideout was busted during a routine search operation, they said. One AK-47, a magazine of the weapon, 30 rounds, including some Pak rounds, and a binocular were recovered, they said.

LUCKNOW: A 12-year-old boy was held for allegedly killing his grandfather over his refusal to purchase him a smartphone, the police said on Wednesday. The incident occurred on August 4 in the Purani Basti Police Station area, where Rampati Pandey, a retired Indian Army personnel, was allegedly murdered by his grandson. The minor, who lived with Pandey, frequently argued with his grandfather over money, and on the day of the incident, he demanded money for a new mobile phone.
