POONCH: A motorcycle rider was killed on the spot after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near Kalai in Poonch district, officials said. The deceased was identified as Mehmood Ahmed, son of Abdul Latief, a resident of Khanater in Poonch. According to officials, Ahmed was riding his motorcycle when the unidentified vehicle struck him near Kalai. He sustained serious injuries and died at the scene. Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident and identify the vehicle involved.

NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) directed its executive engineers (building) across all zones to inspect structures under their jurisdiction and submit comprehensive reports by September 10, following the deadly building collapse in south Delhi’s Satya Niketan killing seven people, officials said. Officials said the information collected during the inspections would be incorporated into an affidavit to be filed before the Delhi High Court within 10 days.
