SRINAGAR: Srinagar police on Thursday said that it has attached/frozen drugs-linked assets worth Rs 6.22 crore in six separate NDPS cases in J&K’s summer capital as part of its crackdown on drug trafficking and the financial networks of narcotics offenders. Giving details, a police spokesperson said the authorities have attached immovable properties, comprising a double-storeyed residential house and a piece of land, valued at approximately Rs 1.10 crore, at Danihama, Hazratbal, belonging to Mubashir Ashiq Teeli. KATHUA: Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested two interstate drug suppliers and established their backward linkages in connection with a narcotics case in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, taking the total recovery of heroin-like substance in the case to 515 grams, officials said. A recovery of 435 grams of heroin-like substance had earlier been made in the case registered at Police Station Billawar, they said. PATNA: More than 43 lakh people have been affected by floods in 14 districts of Bihar, with several rivers, including the Ganga, flowing above the danger mark, officials said on Thursday. Incessant rain in several parts of the state, coupled with heavy rainfall in the catchment areas of Nepal, has caused rivers and streams to overflow, they said. According to the Disaster Management Department (DMD), around 43.64 lakh people in 527 gram panchayats across 85 blocks have been affected by the floods. NEW DELHI: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully conducted a flight acceptance hot test of its CE20 cryogenic engine at uprated thrust conditions of 220 kN, advancing efforts to enhance the payload capability of the LVM3 launch vehicle and supporting the Gaganyaan programme.
