LEH: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, today said that Artificial Intelligence (AI) holds the potential to revolutionise governance by ensuring transparency, efficiency, and citizen empowerment.
Chairing a high-level meeting on “Exploring the Potential Implementation of AI-driven Technologies to Enhance Good Governance in UT Ladakh” at the LG Secretariat, the Lt Governor emphasised that the adoption of AI would automate routine tasks, personalise citizen services, and enable data-driven decision-making for better policy planning.
He underlined that AI integration in healthcare, education, skilling, and tourism would not only reduce administrative burden but also help address public grievances more effectively, thereby raising satisfaction levels among citizens.
Ankush Sabharwal, Founder of CoRover, Bengaluru, made a detailed presentation on AI-driven solutions, including conversational platforms and chatbots for citizen engagement.
Reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Responsible AI, the Lt Governor said that Ladakh could emerge as a model UT for AI-driven governance, provided human oversight and technology work in synergy.
Directing Secretaries and Heads of Departments to analyse AI’s role in improving citizen outreach, he stressed that the ultimate goal must be to empower citizens, strengthen transparency, and make public service delivery more accessible and efficient.
