JAMMU: Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu successfully hosted a highly enriching CBSE Awareness Programme on Entrance Exams and Career Pathways, bringing together distinguished educators, principals, vice principals, counsellors and academicians from across the region under one roof.
The programme was organised with the objective of empowering educators and counsellors with updated insights into entrance examinations, emerging career opportunities and evolving educational pathways, thereby enabling them to guide students towards informed and meaningful career choices.
The school extended heartfelt gratitude to Himanshu Gupta, IAS, Secretary, CBSE, and Neeti Shankar for curating and conceptualising this significant awareness initiative for the educators and counsellors of Jammu. Although both dignitaries could not attend the programme in person due to important official engagements in Delhi, their vision, encouragement and support played a pivotal role in making the event possible.
The event witnessed the gracious presence of eminent resource persons Meenu Arora, Director, Medhavi Professionals, and Ojasvi Sharma, Senior Career Counsellor at IDC, both widely admired for their expertise and contribution in the field of career counselling and student guidance.
The programme commenced with the singing of Vande Mataram and the National Anthem, creating an atmosphere filled with patriotism and pride. A special highlight of the welcome ceremony was the presentation of hand-made welcome cards lovingly prepared by the students of Jammu Sanskriti School. Principal-cum-Vice Chairperson Rohini Aima, along with Management Heads and students, presented these tokens of affection and gratitude to the esteemed guests.
The ceremonial lamp lighting was conducted by the dignitaries alongside Principal-cum-Vice Chairperson Rohini Aima, symbolising the light of wisdom, knowledge and enlightenment. This was followed by a symbolic plantation and watering ceremony reflecting the collective commitment towards nurturing young minds and building a greener future.
The cultural segment beautifully showcased the rich heritage and traditions of Jammu and India. Students enthralled the audience with a soulful Welcome Song inspired by the spirit of “Atithi Devo Bhava,” followed by a graceful Welcome Dance celebrating the cultural pride of the region. A vibrant Fusion Dance performance further highlighted India’s unity in diversity through rhythm, colours and folk traditions.
Addressing the gathering, Principal-cum-Vice Chairperson Rohini Aima emphasised the importance of holistic education, value-based learning and preparing students for the future with confidence and compassion. Her inspiring address highlighted the crucial role of educators and counsellors in shaping responsible global citizens.
The academic sessions conducted by Meenu Arora, Director, Medhavi Professionals, and Ojasvi Sharma, Senior Career Counsellor at IDC, proved highly informative, interactive and insightful. The speakers shared valuable guidance on entrance examinations, emerging career avenues, counselling strategies and evolving educational trends, thereby equipping educators with practical knowledge to mentor students effectively.
The programme concluded with the felicitation of the esteemed resource persons and dignitaries by members of Jammu Sanskriti School, including Sonakshi Anand, Harleen Anand, Harpreet Anand, Rohini Aima and Milli Sumbria. Jammu Sahodaya members, including President Atul Hans, Vice President Rajeev Sharma, Kundan Dogra, members of the Sahodaya Executive Committee, City Coordinator Pramod Srivastava, Vikesh, Ahluwalia and several other distinguished members, also participated in the felicitation ceremony.
The formal proceedings concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks proposed by Avneet Kaur Budhraja, who expressed sincere gratitude to the CBSE officials, esteemed resource persons, dignitaries, Jammu Sahodaya members, educators, organisers, staff members and students for their valuable presence, support and contribution towards the grand success of the event.
