JAMMU: Ranvijay Singh, Trustee of the Maharaja Gulab Singh Trust, on Thursday called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and briefed him about an upcoming seminar dedicated to Raja Amar Singh.
During the meeting, Ranvijay Singh informed the Lieutenant Governor about the objectives and significance of the programme, which is aimed at commemorating the life, vision and contributions of Raja Amar Singh Ji. The seminar will focus on promoting awareness about the region’s rich history and cultural heritage, while highlighting the values of progressive governance, unity and public service associated with the Dogra rulers.
He also shared that a book on the life and legacy of Maharaja Pratap Singh will be released on the occasion.
The Trustee said the seminar will feature scholarly discussions, historical presentations and participation from members of the public, with special emphasis on educating the younger generation about key historical milestones, administrative reforms and socio-cultural contributions during Raja Amar Singh Ji’s era. He added that such initiatives are vital for preserving heritage and fostering a sense of pride, identity and civic responsibility among citizens.
Ranvijay Singh invited the Lieutenant Governor to grace the event as Chief Guest, stating that his presence would add dignity and encouragement to the organisers and participants.
The Lieutenant Governor appreciated the efforts of the Trust in promoting historical awareness and cultural values and conveyed his best wishes for the successful conduct of the programme in Jammu and Kashmir.
