JAMMU: MIER College of Education organised its Alumni Meet 2026 on 13 February 2026 at KC Regalia, Jammu, bringing together nearly 150 alumni from different walks of life.
Held under the theme “Reconnect, Revive and Rejoice”, the event celebrated the enduring bond between the institution and its former students. The programme began with registration followed by the screening of a video highlighting moments from previous alumni meets, setting a nostalgic tone for the evening.
The formal proceedings were conducted by Dr Palvi Mangotra and Kajal Badyal, Assistant Professors at SSSH, MIER College of Education. The event was graced by the presence of Dr Renu Gupta, Chairperson, Rupa Gupta, Joint Director, along with faculty members of the college.
Welcoming the alumni, Prof. Adit Gupta, Director and Principal, applauded their professional achievements and described them as ambassadors of the institution who continue to uphold its values and legacy. He emphasised the importance of alumni engagement in strengthening the vision and future growth of the institution.
On the occasion, the Distinguished Alumni Award was conferred upon several accomplished alumni in recognition of their outstanding contributions in education, administration, social service and public life. The awardees included Dr Bhawan Sharma, Dr Sarita Sood, Abha Chaudhary, Adv. Rekha Mahajan, Ruchika Gupta, Neha Kalra, Dr Behzad Maqbool, Mukesh Sharma and Dr Alka Sharma.
The programme also featured engaging alumni reflections and vibrant cultural performances. Highlights included a Pahadi song by Dr Bhawan Sharma, a soulful ghazal by Dr Aksa Chaman, energetic dance performances by Meenakshi Sharma, Manvi, Kajal and Anuradha Thakur, and a group dance by Amisha, Mannat and Nitika. An address by Hitakshi Bakshi added further warmth to the celebrations.
Fun-filled alumni games added to the festive spirit, with recognitions given to the first registrant, oldest alumnus, alumni couple, and alumni who travelled from the farthest locations to attend the meet.
The event received support from Fortofino, ICICI Bank, Punjab National Bank, Pallavik Global, Copier Corporation, Bhatia Sons and Barista.
The Alumni Meet concluded with lunch and fellowship, reaffirming the strong and lasting connection between MIER College of Education and its alumni fraternity.
