INDORE: Indian batting stalwart Virat Kohli struck his 85th international century and 54th record-extending ODI hundred during the third and final One-Day International against New Zealand at the Holkar Cricket Stadium here on Sunday.
Kohli reached the milestone in 91 balls, producing a composed innings under pressure as India chased a challenging 338-run target in the do-or-die contest.
With this knock, Kohli further strengthened his remarkable ODI record. He now has seven or more centuries against five different teams—10 against Sri Lanka, nine versus West Indies, eight against Australia, and seven each against South Africa and New Zealand. The century was also his 41st ODI hundred on home soil.
Kohli’s innings played a crucial role in keeping India’s hopes alive in the series decider, once again highlighting his ability to deliver in high-pressure run chases.
The match marked another milestone in Kohli’s illustrious career, reaffirming his status as one of the greatest batters in ODI history.
