UDHAMPUR: Employment Department Udhampur, in collaboration with the Skill Development Department, organized a one-day capacity building for Entrepreneurship mela under Mission YUVA here at Government Polytechnic College.
The event was held to empower and motivate local youth towards entrepreneurship and self-reliance through government-sponsored schemes and capacity-building initiatives.
District Development Council Chairperson Udhampur, Lal Chand was the chief guest on the occasion.
Deputy Director Employment, Mohinder Sharma presided over the event. The programme also witnessed the presence of Priyanka Gupta, Assistant Director Employment along with other officials.
Addressing the participants, the DDC Chairperson congratulated the Employment Department for organizing the mela and lauded the initiative aimed at encouraging youth to start their own ventures. He urged the participants to take full advantage of the self-employment and entrepreneurship schemes launched by the government. He also interacted with the youth and sensitized them about the benefits and scope of these schemes.
A range of stalls were set up by Self Help Groups and skill training centers, showcasing trades like plumbing, mobile repair, printing and local crafts. The DDC Chairperson inspected the stalls and appreciated the efforts of the participants and trainers.
Experts also conducted demonstrations and interactive sessions on the Mission YUVA App, soft skills, digital literacy and career counseling, providing valuable guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs.
Later, the chief guest handed over the sanction letters to selected beneficiaries on the occasion.
