JAMMU: KC Public School organized an insightful and interactive session for parents titled “Parenting the Gen Zs: Challenges and the Way Forward as Partners”, featuring Salony Priya, a renowned counsellor, psychologist, and founder of UMMEED.
The event, held on the school premises, drew enthusiastic participation from parents, educators, and staff.
Drawing on her vast experience in mental health, parenting, and adolescent psychology, Ms. Priya highlighted the complex challenges of raising Generation Z — children growing up amid rapid technological, social, and emotional changes.
She underscored the importance of empathetic communication, emotional resilience, and collaborative parenting, stressing that understanding and trust form the foundation of strong parent-child relationships in today’s fast-evolving world.
It is noteworthy that sixty teachers from KC Public School have been trained as pastoral guides equipped with basic counselling skills — a step that aligns with the school’s holistic approach to student wellbeing.
The session’s interactive format encouraged open dialogue, allowing parents to share experiences and seek guidance on practical strategies for bridging generational gaps and fostering mindful parenting.
Speaking on the occasion, Arti Chowdhary, Managing Director of KC Public School, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Salony Priya and appreciated the parents for their active participation. She acknowledged the positive impact such sessions have had on nurturing a progressive school culture.
Principal Amarendra Kumar Mishra also extended his gratitude, stating, “Sessions like these empower our parent community to become better partners in their children’s growth journey. We thank Salony Priya for sharing her wisdom with such clarity and compassion.”
KC Public School reiterated its commitment to holistic development and continuous engagement with experts and professionals who contribute to the emotional and intellectual growth of its students.
