SRINAGAR: The world-famous ski resort Gulmarg witnessed the season’s first snowfall on Thursday, with the majestic Afarwat peak draped in a pristine white blanket, much to the delight of tourists and locals.
The fresh spell brought a dip in temperatures across the Kashmir Valley, marking the onset of winter in the region. Residents expressed optimism that the snowfall would attract more tourists in the coming weeks, giving a boost to the local economy heavily dependent on winter tourism.
Meanwhile, authorities have advised visitors to remain cautious while venturing into higher reaches due to slippery and challenging conditions.
