JAMMU: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), J&K, has welcomed the decision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central Government to increase Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) by 3% for Central Government employees and pensioners, effective July 1, 2025.
In a statement issued today, Parimoksh Seth, Spokesperson BJP J&K, described the increase as a “Diwali gift” for Central Government employees, pensioners, and their family members.
Seth highlighted that this decision will benefit nearly 1.18 crore people, including 50 lakh Central Government employees and about 68 lakh pensioners. He said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been taking pro-people decisions one after another, and this latest DA/DR increase is yet another example of his government’s commitment to the welfare of employees and pensioners.”
He further noted that the Modi Government has consistently introduced historic and people-centric measures, citing the reduction and rationalization of GST rates, which has helped bring down prices of essential commodities across the country.
Conveying gratitude to the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Seth said, “We thank Narendra Modi ji for this Diwali gift to the Central Government employees and pensioners, and also for the rationalization of GST, which has reduced the burden on the common man.”
