RAJOURI: In a solemn and heartfelt ceremony at Raina Auditorium, Rajouri (J&K), the White Knight Corps in collaboration with the Nirmala Gajanan Foundation (NGF) paid tribute to victims of Pakistani armed forces’ actions during Operation Sindoor.
A total of 117 beneficiaries from Rajouri and Poonch districts—many of whom lost loved ones, homes, or suffered injuries—were honoured with compassion and dignity.
The event was graced by Padma Shri awardee and veteran actor Shri Nana Patekar, who personally interacted with each beneficiary, offering words of comfort and solidarity. His empathetic gesture moved many families to tears, underlining the deep emotional impact of the occasion.
The ceremony was attended by distinguished dignitaries from the civil administration and armed forces, including representatives of NGF, DIG JKP, DIG BSF, DC Rajouri, SSP Rajouri, and Principal GMC Rajouri. Their presence reflected a unified effort by the Army, civil authorities, and non-profit organisations to stand beside affected families.
Following the felicitation, informal interactions were held where families shared their stories and received encouragement from both civil and military leaders. Shri Nana Patekar also spent time with gallantry award winners of Operation Sindoor, acknowledging their courage and sacrifice.
A joint media briefing was later addressed by Maj Gen Kaushik Mukherjee, SM, GOC Ace of Spades Division; Shri Nana Patekar; and the DC Rajouri, highlighting the noble initiative and reinforcing the message of national unity, compassion, and resilience.
The ceremony stood as a testament to the unifying spirit of the nation, showcasing how the Indian Army, civil administration, and NGF can come together to ensure that the victims of conflict are honoured with dignity, respect, and continued support.
Special appreciation was extended to the Nirmala Gajanan Foundation for its sustained commitment to the people of Rajouri and Poonch.
