JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages today organized a two-day Painters’ Camp on the theme “Life, Works and Times of Acharya Abhinav Gupta” at the Academy premises, Jammu.
The camp was inaugurated by Secretary, JKAACL Harvinder Kour in presence of Special Secretary JKAACL Sonali Arun Gupta and Exhibition Officer JKAACL Irshad Tantray.
Renowned artists from Jammu and Kashmir are participating in the camp and are creating artworks inspired by the life, philosophy, literary contributions and enduring legacy of Acharya Abhinav Gupta, one of the most celebrated philosophers, aestheticians, spiritual thinkers and polymaths of Kashmir.
The participating artists include Vijay Anand, Chetna Anand, Amit Anand, Subhash Lange and Rohit Verma. The artists are interpreting the life and intellectual legacy of Acharya Abhinav Gupta through their individual artistic expressions, bringing together diverse perspectives and contemporary visual representations.
The Secretary JKAACL highlighted the profound contribution of Acharya Abhinav Gupta to Indian philosophy, aesthetics, literature, spirituality and the cultural thought of Kashmir. She said that his extensive body of work continues to hold relevance even today and represents one of the finest intellectual traditions of Kashmir.
While interacting with the artists, the Special Secretary appreciated their creativity and artistic expression in portraying the life, works and contributions of Acharya Abhinav Gupta on canvas.
She lauded the artists for their imagination and unique interpretation of the revered philosopher, scholar and aesthetician.
