BHADERWAH: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bhaderwah Sunil Kumar Bhutyal, today chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the implementation of National Green Tribunal (NGT) guidelines.
He directed stakeholder departments to intensify measures for environmental protection, sanitation and scientific waste management across the subdivision.
The ADC stressed strict and effective implementation of environmental norms and called for daily monitoring of waste collection systems, along with the mandatory sharing of geo-tagged photographs on a daily basis to ensure transparency and accountability.
He directed the concerned authorities to ensure 100 percent door-to-door waste collection in rural areas, including coverage of the BDO office areas, while similar arrangements are to be strengthened in the town and municipal areas. He also called for completion of waste collection sheds in the town, municipality and rural areas.
Special emphasis was laid on maintaining cleanliness in marketplaces. The ADC directed the concerned agencies to deploy separate vehicles for collection of waste from fruit and vegetable markets and chicken shops. He further ordered strict action against littering in markets, including the issuance of challans to persons found spreading or dumping litter.
The meeting was attended by CEO BDA, PWD (R&B), Jal Shakti, (I&FC), AO BDA, UEED, REW, BMO, BDO, AEE PHE, EO MCB and other officers and officials from various departments.
