JAMMU: The Economic Offences Wing of Crime Branch Jammu on Monday filed a chargesheet against a couple for their alleged involvement in a fraudulent land transaction involving Rs 16.50 lakh here, an official said.
The chargesheet against Rahul Dasgotra and his wife Sneha Verma was filed before the Court of Special Municipal Mobile Magistrate Jammu in a case filed in 2025 under various sections of law, including cheating and criminal conspiracy, a spokesperson of the Crime Branch said.
He said the case originated from a written complaint lodged by Anjan Bhola, who alleged that Dasgotra represented himself as the owner of land at Patyari village in Bishnah area on the outskirts of Jammu and induced him to enter into an agreement to purchase one kanal of land for Rs 16.50 lakh.
