REASI: Reasi Police has solved a mobile theft case registered at Police Station Katra and recovered all four stolen mobile phones, including an iPhone 16 Pro, with an approximate total value of ₹1.20 lakh, officials said.
The case was registered after complainant Raja Babu, son of Punni Lal Sah, resident of East Delhi, approached Police Station Katra on September 7 and reported that four mobile phones had been stolen from his bag while he was travelling towards Shri Mata Vaishno Devi.
Acting promptly on the complaint, police registered FIR No. 287/2026 under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and initiated an investigation. During the course of the probe, the police team worked on available leads and succeeded in identifying and apprehending the accused, Shahi Kumar, son of Bharat Bhushan, resident of Akhli, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi.
Based on his disclosure and subsequent investigation, police recovered all four stolen phones, comprising one iPhone 16 Pro and three Android handsets. The recovered property has an estimated value of ₹1,20,000.
The successful detection of the case reflects the prompt response, professional investigation and sustained efforts of Reasi Police to safeguard the property and interests of pilgrims and visitors travelling to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.
