SRINAGAR: Joint security forces on Monday busted a terror hideout in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during a search operation, officials said.
The operation was launched jointly by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, 44 Rashtriya Rifles of the Army and the CRPF at Naikpora Memender following specific intelligence inputs.
Officials said the security personnel carried out searches in an orchard area, during which a hideout was detected and subsequently busted.
The recoveries included one AK-47 rifle, two AK-47 magazines, 60 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, one pistol, one grenade and six rounds of 9 mm ammunition.
Officials said further investigation has been initiated to ascertain the origin of the recovered weapons and their intended use.
