JAMMU: Heritage School, Jammu, on Wednesday held its Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2026–27, formally inducting the newly elected Student Council and celebrating the values of democratic participation, responsible leadership and service.
The presence of parents added warmth to the occasion. The programme began with a welcome address, ceremonial lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana, followed by a musical mash-up.
The Student Council was elected through the school’s electronic voting system, with students and faculty members of Grades X to XII participating in the democratic process. Junior Council members were selected by teachers on the basis of predetermined parameters, with emphasis on merit.
Principal Akash Pradhan administered the Oath of Office to the newly appointed student leaders.
Divyansh of Class XII-C and Sonakshi Padwal of XII-A were invested as Head Boy and Head Girl, while Darim Jamsheed of XI-B and Lakshika Majotra of XI-D were appointed Vice Head Boy and Vice Head Girl.
Chandan Mahajan and Hateef Mohammad, both of XI-C, were invested as Cultural Captain and Sports Captain respectively.
The House Council comprised Ayaan Gupta, Rudransh Gupta, Ritvik Grover, Saanvi Sharma, Jassimrat Singh, Sachit Singh, Atharva Bhatia and Vedha Sadhotra as House Prefects and Vice Prefects representing Culture, Dignity, Legacy and Tradition Houses.
The Primary Wing leadership was also formally inducted, with Bhavin Gupta and Jazlyn Kaur appointed Junior School Prefects.
The Junior House Prefects included Anmol Mahajan and Pragunn Kaur for Culture House, Nahyan Ul Nisaq and Kiaana Gupta for Legacy House, Taanush Gupta and Chidanshi Sharma for Tradition House, and Tavish Gupta and Harmehar Kour for Dignity House.
The Piping Ceremony was conducted by the school leadership team, formally marking the induction of the new student leaders.
Senior and Junior Council members of the previous academic session were also felicitated with certificates in recognition of their dedicated service to the school.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Akash Pradhan congratulated the newly inducted leaders and encouraged them to dream big, lead by example and cultivate positive and inspiring thoughts.
He urged the students to uphold integrity, discipline, responsibility and teamwork while discharging their duties and also appreciated the organising committee for the successful conduct of the ceremony.
The programme concluded with the rendition of Vande Mataram and the National Anthem.
