POONCH, AUGUST 07: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma today chaired a comprehensive meeting at Dak Bungalow to review the preparations for the upcoming Independence Day 2025 celebrations and the ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga campaign across the district.
The meeting was attended by key officers from the district administration, police and allied departments to ensure a well-coordinated, timely and dignified celebration of the national event.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation, outlining departmental responsibilities and the current status of preparations.
The Deputy Commissioner conducted a thorough review of all arrangements, including security and traffic management, venue decoration and seating arrangements, public address system and Shanai Vadan, parade and cultural performances, fire safety measures and barricading, refreshments and hospitality for guests, power and water supply management, illumination of government buildings, and cleanliness drives at and around the venue.
Special emphasis was laid on flawless parade rehearsals, effective sound systems and maintaining cleanliness at the venue to ensure the smooth conduct of the main event.
The main Independence Day function is scheduled to be held at Sports Stadium, Poonch, where the Chief Guest will unfurl the National Flag and take the salute at the ceremonial march-past by various contingents.
Reviewing the progress of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the Deputy Commissioner called for maximum public participation and directed the concerned officers to ensure the campaign’s successful execution. He emphasised effective coordination for flag distribution, awareness generation and mobilisation at the grassroots level.
In his concluding remarks, the Deputy Commissioner urged all departments to work in synergy and uphold the spirit of unity and patriotism, ensuring that Independence Day 2025 is celebrated in a grand, inclusive and seamless manner.
