BUDGAM: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, today visited Regenya Mata Asthapan Sheila at Raithan Khansahab.
During the visit, DC paid his obeisance at the holy place, reviewed arrangements for annual Hawan and interacted with members of the Pandit community, who expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the district administration for ensuring smooth conduct of the annual function, including the provision of essential logistical and security arrangements.
They also submitted requests for fencing the entire Mandir complex and roofing the newly constructed prayer hall. DC assured that their demands would be examined on priority.
Kashmiri pandits thronged the temple from different parts of the country to participate in the religious function.
Speaking on the occasion, DC said that the entire district administration, locals of Raithan have wholeheartedly put in their efforts to ensure best facilities for the incoming pilgrims at the temple.
He said that the atmosphere of festivity and celebration joined in by all around the area is a very heartening sight. It is always a pleasure to be part of such spiritual gatherings.
He said district administration is committed to supporting all religious and cultural events in the district and ensuring that devotees are provided with the best possible facilities.
Later, DC met local delegations and community members at Raithan and listened to their grievances and demands. He assured the public that genuine issues would be taken up for timely redressal and directed the concerned officers to conduct necessary follow-ups.
DC was accompanied by SDM Khanshaib, Jahangir Giri; Tehsildar Khanshaib, SHO and other district and sectoral officers during the visit.
