JAMMU: Heritage School on Monday hosted the TGF National Golf Talent Hunt, an initiative of The Golf Foundation, supported by the BMW India Foundation, under the EWS Talent Identification Programme, at its school premises.
The programme aims to identify and nurture young golfing talent, particularly from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), by providing structured exposure, professional training and a clear developmental pathway in the sport. The initiative seeks to promote inclusivity and accessibility in sports while strengthening grassroots-level excellence.
The event aligns closely with the vision of Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, whose focus on inclusion and empowerment through sports has opened new opportunities for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Heritage School reiterated its commitment to supporting this broader vision of social upliftment and holistic development.
Students participated enthusiastically and were exposed to professional-level golf training and assessment. The programme was conducted by Romit Bose, Head Coach, renowned golf instructor and President of the PGA of India, whose expert guidance and motivational interactions inspired the young participants.
The event was attended by the Chairman and members of the Trustee Board. The Chairman, an avid golfer himself, reaffirmed his commitment to promoting sports and encouraging golf as a key component of holistic education, noting that sustained institutional support is essential for nurturing sporting talent.
Addressing the gathering, the Principal of Heritage School expressed gratitude to The Golf Foundation and the BMW India Foundation for selecting the school as the venue for this prestigious national initiative and for creating meaningful opportunities for students.
The programme concluded on an inspiring note, reinforcing the values of discipline, dedication and passion in sports, while motivating students to pursue excellence beyond academics.
