JAMMU: The World Women Awakening Organisation (WWAO), Jammu Chapter, celebrated its Foundation Day on 15th November at Government Middle School, Bhure Chak, Phalian Mandal. The event commenced with a warm welcome address by the Principal, Mamata Gupta.
Veenu Khanna, President of WWAO Jammu Chapter, highlighted the organisation’s mission to uplift weaker sections of society, especially women and children. She emphasized nurturing the hidden potential of students from underprivileged backgrounds, saying, “We have come to this village to witness the talent of these children. We will help take their talent forward—this is our promise.”
Zonal Education Officer, Zaver Noor, graced the event as the Special Guest and expressed her delight that WWAO selected a school from her zone for the celebration.
A vibrant cultural programme followed, beginning with Ganesh Vandana, and including a patriotic song, Dogri song, debate on Rani of Jhansi, group dance, and fun activities such as a spoon race and sack race. Students showcased their abilities with zeal under the guidance of their dedicated teachers. To encourage every child, mementoes were presented to all participants, not just the winners.
Dr. Renu Gupta, National Vice President, WWAO, appreciated the ZEO for attending the programme and presented her with a token of respect. Tokens of appreciation were also presented to the Principal and staff for successfully organising the event at short notice by President Veenu Khanna, Vice President Veena Handa, and Advisory Committee Members Sarla Kohli and Indira Rathore.
The event was coordinated by Rajendra Sharma along with school authorities. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Kamini Chopra, Member, WWAO.
