JAMMU: Rahul Sahai, Chairman of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Jammu & Kashmir, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Chief Minister of J&K, Omar Abdullah, on the announcement of the revival of the historic Darbar Move tradition. He also expressed deep appreciation to Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, for granting approval to this landmark decision.
Sahai emphasized that the revival of the Darbar Move will significantly benefit the economies of both Jammu and Kashmir by ensuring a balanced administrative presence and equitable economic activity throughout the year. “This decision will bring renewed vibrancy to Jammu’s trade and business sector, as our markets and bazaars will once again see increased footfall from customers from the Kashmir region during the winter months,” he stated.
Highlighting the socio-economic significance, Sahai noted that the move will strengthen bonds of brotherhood and harmony between the two regions, fostering greater unity and mutual understanding. He described the revival as a visionary step that respects the historic legacy of J&K while promoting inclusive growth and regional balance.
Sahai reaffirmed ICC Jammu’s full support for initiatives that aim to promote economic revival, inter-regional cooperation, and social harmony across the Union Territory.
