SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat chaired a high-level security and operational review meeting at Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir to assess the prevailing security situation and review measures aimed at strengthening police capabilities and operational preparedness.
The meeting was attended physically by IGP Kashmir Sujit Kumar, DIG Central Kashmir Range (CKR), SSP PCR Kashmir, SSP Srinagar, SP Cargo and other senior officers. DIG South Kashmir Range (SKR), DIG North Kashmir Range (NKR) and all district SSPs of Kashmir Zone participated through video conferencing.
Senior officers briefed the DGP on the prevailing security scenario, operational preparedness and key security-related developments. The meeting also reviewed various initiatives and structured programmes undertaken to enhance the professional capabilities, operational readiness and specialised expertise of police personnel.
DGP Prabhat emphasised the need for sustained vigilance, proactive policing, close coordination among security agencies and timely sharing of actionable intelligence to strengthen preparedness at the field level. He also stressed regular, specialised and need-based training, with particular focus on modern and technology-enabled policing.
The DGP directed officers to ensure continuous opportunities for professional development so that personnel remain equipped to respond effectively to evolving operational requirements.
The meeting concluded with directions to maintain a sustained focus on professional capacity-building, operational readiness and specialised training across the force.
