UDHAMPUR: In a major step towards empowering women in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, the FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO), Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh Chapter, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Government College for Women (GCW), Udhampur.
The collaboration aims to bolster personal, academic, and entrepreneurial growth among young women under the initiative titled "The Power to Empower."
The MoU was signed in the presence of prominent FLO JKL members including Chairperson Aarti Choudhary, past Chairperson Varuna Anand, vice Chairperson Rupika Sahai and secretary Nandita Bajaj.
GCW Udhampur was represented by Principal Prof Nalini Pathania and senior faculty members. "This MoU is a commitment to nurturing skills, exposure, and confidence in our students," said Prof Pathania, lauding the shared mission of promoting holistic education and empowerment.
The collaboration will focus on three core areas: skilling and entrepreneurship, health and wellness, and grassroots empowerment. Activities under the MoU will include workshops on digital and financial literacy, entrepreneurship training, and career guidance led by successful women entrepreneurs and industry experts.
The initiative will further benefit local collectives such as Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) through specialized training. A FICCI-FLO Young Women Affinity Group (YWAG) will also be established at GCW Udhampur to offer leadership and networking opportunities.
The MoU is valid for one year, with provisions for renewal and continued collaboration in areas of shared interest.
