Mission Shakti SWD conducts week-long PMMVY awareness, enrolment drive across Jammu District

JAMMU: Mission Shakti District Hub for Empowerment of Women Jammu (Social Welfare Department), in collaboration with the Poshan Projects, successfully organised a week-long awareness and enrolment cum outreach drive under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY).

The drive was conducted at multiple Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) across Jammu district, including Old Janipur, Bishnah, Satrayan (R.S. Pura), Arjan Kotli (R.S. Pura), Lower Shiv Nagar and Nagrota in coordination with the respective Child Development Project Officers and their dedicated staff.

The initiative aimed to spread awareness about maternal health, nutrition, and the benefits of PMMVY while ensuring the enrolment of all eligible beneficiaries. Community women and local residents actively participated in the sessions, where the Mission Shakti officials and CDPO officials provided guidance on availing the benefits of the scheme.

Mission Shakti officials stated that such outreach programs play a crucial role in ensuring that government welfare schemes reach the grassroots level and empower women across the district.
