KATHUA: An awareness-cum-registration programme under Mission YUVA was conducted today at Panchayat Ghar Rakh Lachhipur in Block and District Kathua in presence of the Joint Director, Employment, Jammu Paramjit Singh.
A large number of local youth attended the programme. They were briefed about the benefits of the Mission YUVA scheme and the features of the Mission YUVA Mobile App.
The participants were also made aware of the skill development courses being offered by the District Employment and Counselling Centre (DE&CC). They were encouraged to register for the Electrician and Solar Panel Technician courses designed to enhance employment opportunities for the youth.
Later, the Joint Director Employment Jammu chaired a review meeting under Mission YUVA at DE&CC Kathua. The meeting was attended by Deputy Director DE&CC Harvinder Singh and all SBDU members along with representatives from various departments including the designated Chartered Accountant. Several key directions were issued during the meeting to ensure the effective implementation of the Mission YUVA scheme.
They stakeholders were asked to ensure timely verification of applications at the SBDU level, setting targets for preparation of Detailed Project Reports by the concerned departments and the Chartered Accountant. The representatives of banks were asked for early sanction and disbursement of loan cases. The DE&CC Kathua was asked to closely monitor and expedite the application verification process at the SBDU level.
The YUVA Doots were asked to proactively engage with the local youth and acquaint them with the process of establishing units under the Mission YUVA scheme. "This will help in avoiding any delays or difficulties during the loan sanctioning process by the banks," they were told.
The Joint Director called upon all stakeholders to work in coordination to achieve the objectives of Mission YUVA and to empower the youth of the district through sustainable livelihood opportunities. |
