UDHAMPUR: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai today chaired a District Level Convergence Committee meeting to review the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana in the district.

During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on various socio-economic monitoring indicators related to the villages identified under the scheme across different blocks of Udhampur District.

At the outset, District Social Welfare Officer Kanika Gupta gave a detailed presentation on the current status of these indicators. She explained that PMAGY aims at the integrated development of villages with more than 50% SC population, with the objective of ensuring inclusive growth and the upliftment of marginalized communities.

The DC underscored the need for conducting a thorough and accurate house-to-house survey. She emphasized that reliable data collection is critical for identifying lagging indicators and planning appropriate interventions.

She directed the concerned departments to pool resources and work collaboratively to bridge the identified development gaps effectively.
