DC Kulgam visits Liroo, inspects progress on SWMTP & FSTP

KULGAM: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan on Monday visited the Liroo area of the district to take stock of the physical progress made on the construction of waste management projects here.

DC reviewed the status of the solid waste management treatment plant (SWMTP) of Municipal Council Kulgam which is under the execution at an estimated cost of about 2.50 Cr and a faecal sludge treatment plant (FSTP) at an estimated cost of 1.34Cr by RDD and PWD departments.

While taking stock of progress made on the construction of two important waste treatment plants, DC directed the concerned agencies to expedite and ensure timely completion of work.

The concerned from R&B and RDD informed the DC that 85% of work has been completed on the solid waste treatment facility and around 55% work has been completed on the FSTP and assured that the facilities will be commissioned on time.

DC was accompanied by ADDC Altaf Ahmad Khan, ACD, Xen R&B, CEO MC Kulgam, and other officers and official of RDD amd PWD departments.
