KATRA: Continuing the drive against drug abuse launched by District Police Reasi, a major breakthrough was achieved today, during routine vehicle checking at Naka, Kakryal, intercepted an auto-rickshaw and seized 6.3 grams of a heroin-like substance along with an unauthorized weapon.

The contraband was recovered from the driver namely Ajay Singh alias Ajju S/o Rattan Singh R/o Village Panthal, Katra, Reasi.

Two other individuals, Mulk Raj S/o Darshan Kumar and Bhushan Kumar S/o Bikru Ram both R/o Mani, Ramnagar, were found accompanying him and were also taken into custody.

In addition to the drug seizure, the police team also recovered a toka (an edged weapon) from the vehicle, further escalating the seriousness of the offense.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 99/2025 U/S 8/21/22/25/29 NDPS Act, 4/25 Arms Act has been registered at P/S Katra and an investigation has been initiated to uncover both forward and backward linkages of the narcotics supply chain.

This successful operation was carried out under the leadership of 𝗦𝗛𝗢 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗮, 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗞𝗵𝘆𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗷𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗮, 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗗𝗣𝗢 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗮, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗕𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗺 𝗗𝘂𝗯𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗣 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗩𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗻.
