RAJOURI: During a joint Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Topa and Hill Tak areas of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir, security forces detected and effectively destroyed an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

The operation was conducted by the Rajouri police and army based on specific information regarding suspicious movement.

"On specific input about some suspicious movement, a joint Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched by Rajouri Police & Army in Topa, Hill Tak areas under the jurisdiction of Police Station Darhal," stated the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

While conducting the search operation, the security forces identified the IED and took immediate action to destroy it on the spot in a controlled manner with the assistance of the Bomb Disposal Squad.

The swift response averted potential risks and ensured the safety of the area.
