Directs Financial Institutions to facilitate target beneficiaries

UDHAMPUR: To assess the performance of banks for the quarter ending December 2024, the District Level review Committee cum District Consultative Committee meeting was held today chaired by Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai here in the Conference Hall of DC Office Complex.

The meeting was attended by bankers and district officers from stakeholder departments.

A detailed discussion was held on several key issues, including the issuance of Kisan Credit Cards , sector-wise lending in priority and non-priority sectors, the bank-wise position of deposits and advances, special credit facilities for street vendors, the district's financial inclusion plan, and the implementation of the Stand-Up India Programme launched by the Prime Minister.

Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need to organize financial literacy awareness camps in coordination with various departments across all blocks of the district to ensure that maximum benefits reach the grassroots level.

She directed the bankers to consult the concerned departments before rejecting any sponsored loan cases, as these departments act as a bridge between beneficiaries and banks, facilitating smoother loan approvals.

She urged the bankers to proactively reach out to stakeholders and ensure timely financial assistance, particularly to uplift the socio-economic conditions of the underprivileged sections of society.

The DC also instructed officials to adopt a public-friendly approach and work in close coordination to achieve the desired results at the grassroots level.

She directed officers to activate their field staff to identify left-out farmers and enhance awareness about various government schemes.
