DAP has vision for inclusive development of J&K: Manohar Lal Sharma

BILLAWAR: Former minister and senior DAP leader, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has said that after coming to power by making tall poll promises, the Narendra Modi-led BJP Government at the Centre has miserably failed on all fronts.

He was addressing public meeting at Chinji Panchayat of Makwal (Billawar) along with Th Bhudhi Singh senior leader, Sarpanch Rajinder Singh Kalotra, Romesh Spolia Ex- Sarpanch and others.

Manohar said BJP failed to fulfill the poll promises made in 2014, including generating two crore employment opportunities per year, controlling inflation and fuel price, transparent governance etc. He said that the BJP has failed on all fronts. They have adopted policy of oppression, repression and denial of rights to the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe and other weaker sections of the society.

"The Government's tenure is marked by gross non-delivery, acknowledged failure to fulfill the promises given to the nation and a betrayal of the people, particularly the poor, disadvantaged and the unemployed," he added.

Dr Manohar asked the cadre to launch a mass contact programme to mobilize public support ahead of the forthcoming Assembly elections. "Our party is committed to assuage the urges and aspirations of every segment of the society in all the regions and sub-regions," Manohar said, adding "The cadre must reach out to the people and help them to get solutions to their problems."

"Youths who were promised two crore jobs are still unemployed and feel betrayal by BJP. `Back to Village Programme' is a futile exercise and an avoidable wasteful expenditure," Manohar added.

"Jammu and Kashmir needs a massive developmental push to meet the aspirations of its people, Manohar said adding that party has a clear and inclusive plan for overall and equitable developmental of J&K. He said Azad's tenure as the Chief Minister in J&K from 2005 to 2008 is still considered as the best in terms of development initiatives as his government had directed all departments to work on double shifts to ensure speedy completion of various projects. J&K infrastructure needs to be built on a fast-track basis," Manohar said.

"If our party comes to power, we will ensure people get better roads, hospitals and educational facilities, adding that party has a vision of inclusive development for Jammu and Kashmir. He appealed to people to join his party to become an ambassador of peace and progress in the country.
