DC Ramban flags off Half-Marathon to mark end of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam today flagged off a Half Marathon Run which was organized by the School Education Department to mark culmination of month-long Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, a part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
Students of different institutions participated in the Run and generated awareness by displaying posters and placards on anti-drug abuse themes. The pledge was administered to participants to make Nasha Mukt society.
Chief Education Officer Ramban, Dev Anand and other senior officers, staff members of participating schools and students participated in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner informed that the District Administration organized a series of awareness events like rallies, cultural programmes, debates, symposiums, painting and essay writing competitions etc. which witnessed huge participation of officers, officials, members of civil society, social workers, PRIs, and especially the students.
The DC appreciated the department of Social Welfare, RDD, School Education, Higher Education, Skill Development, Health and other line departments for organizing scores of awareness activities in a well-organized manner during the Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan across the district to eradicate the evil of drugs from the minds and hearts of the people, especially youth.
The DC said that the aim of the programmes was to strengthen action and cooperation in achieving the goal of a sustainable world free of substance abuse.
The DC also congratulated the all stakeholders for their contribution in making a month-long Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhyian successful programme. The drive will remain to continue till achieving the target of Nasha Mukt Bharat.
