DC Kishtwar presides over weekly Block Diwas programme at Bounjwah

KISHTWAR: To redress the grievances of people at their doorstep, the weekly Block Diwas proceedings were held today here at Bounjwah, wherein Deputy Commissioner, Dr Devansh Yadav listened to the grievances of the people.
The programme was coordinated by the Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj in collaboration with other line departments.
Scores of people and PRIs from adjacent panchayats thronged the Block Diwas programme.
On the occasion, individuals and public deputations led by PRIs put forth issues and demands seeking augmentation of power, water supply, road connectivity and other basic amenities.
Besides, issues of shortage of staff in Schools and Health institutions and other specific issues were also highlighted in the programme.
After listening to the issues of the locals, the Deputy Commissioner redressed many grievances on the spot by passing a slew of directions to the concerned officers. He assured the public that all their genuine grievances shall be redressed in a time bound manner.
The DC directed the officers to work in coordination to achieve equitable development of rural areas.
Meanwhile, the PDD officials also imparted awareness to people on the Power Amnesty scheme under which the consumer has to pay Principal charges minus interest on long outstanding bills.
ALC Kishtwar also spoke about the various schemes of the labour and employment department.
The DC urged the people and PRIs to avail the benefit of the Amnesty scheme of PDD and other welfare schemes.
He appealed to the PRIs and masses to join hands with administration and actively participate in the Nasha Mukt JK Abhiyan and Special Gram Panchayats to be held on 2nd October, 2022 for the formulation of Gram Panchayat Development Plans.
He called upon the RDD officers to take all the stakeholders on board to achieve the objective of sustainable development.
He said that the public interaction mechanism imparts transparency in governance and promotes the responsive function of public entities.
Responding to the issue of shortage of staff in GHSS Binoon and New Type Public Health Centre (NTPHC), he assured to take up the matter with concerned higher quarters for an early redressal of the problem.
The CMO was directed to forward the proposals to higher ups for the pending construction work at NTPHC Bounjwah.
Besides, the DDC instructed the concerned to take measures to prevent encroachment on the land identified for PMGSY roads and NTPC.
He also assured that the BT work on Tipri to Patnazi road will be started within one week.
He also spoke on the issue of ST hostel, JJM schemes and land compensation to beneficiaries.
All the concerned departments were asked to conduct awareness camps on Welfare schemes for common masses particularly focusing on the Mission Youth programme.
Meanwhile, the DDC, along with concerned officers, inspected GHSS Binoon and NTPHC Bonjwah and took stock of the Education and Health care facilities there.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner, along with Administrator Auqaf Zakir Hussain Wani, visited holy shrines of Shah Farid-ud-Din Baghdadi and Shah Asrar -Ud-Din Baghdadi and paid obeisance there.
He also inspected the beautification and extension works besides interacted with members of the management committee and listened to their grievances.
He assured them for redressal of their grievances on priority.
