BANDIPORA: To promote financial awareness and transparency in public service, District Fund office Bandipora today organized a financial literacy camp at the Mini Secretariat, Bandipora.
Chief Accounts Officer, District Fund Office Bandipora was present at the event, which was also attended by DDOs of various offices, concerned officials and other stakeholders from across the district.
The objective of the camp was to educate and empower government employees and associated stakeholders regarding various initiatives introduced by the Finance department, focused on ensuring transparency, accountability, and a citizen-friendly approach to public financial management.
During the session, detailed discussions were held on General Provident Fund (GPF), Deposit Linked Insurance (DLI), State Life Insurance (SLI), National Pension System (NPS), Old Pension Scheme (OPS), Pension Suvidha Portal, Single Nodal Agency (SNA) - SPARSH, Financial Inclusion and other concerned aspects.
Speaking on the occasion, CAO emphasized the need for continuous financial literacy among public servants to ensure efficient service delivery and to keep pace with digital governance reforms. He also reiterated the commitment of the Finance Department towards a transparent and responsive financial ecosystem.
Highlighting the department's stance on ethical governance, CAO stressed the policy of zero tolerance against corruption, stating, "Corruption undermines public trust and development."
"It is our moral and official responsibility to maintain integrity at all levels," he added.
Accounts Officer, District Fund Office Bandipora also addressed the participants focusing specifically on the General Provident Fund (GPF). He provided a detailed overview of GPF rules and procedures.
The camp concluded with an interactive session, allowing participants to raise queries and share feedback.
