DC Udhampur reviews PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana implementation in Udhampur

Discusses development of model solar villages

UDHAMPUR: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and discuss the development of model solar villages in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Singh, Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh, Executive Engineer JPDCL and other officers concerned besides empanelled vendors.

During the meeting, Executive Engineer JPDCL presented a detailed overview of the scheme implementation, including the total number of applications received under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, applications for which vendors have been allotted, cases pending Vendor allocation and the number of installations completed to date.

The DC took detailed feedback from the vendors regarding the challenges faced in executing pending applications. She emphasized the need for transparency, accountability and a proactive approach to ensure time-bound implementation of the scheme.

The DC stressed on the importance of active coordination between JPDCL and vendors to bridge the gap between applications received and those pending vendor allotment or installation. She directed all concerned officers and vendors to intensify awareness efforts to motivate the public to avail the benefits of this flagship scheme.

Assuring full cooperation from the District Administration, the Deputy Commissioner directed vendors to accelerate installation of pending solar connections at the earliest.

Regarding the development of model solar villages, the DC instructed the concerned to identify suitable villages with potential for solar energy adoption, so that the initiative can be implemented in an impactful manner.
