DC Poonch reviews progress of PMGSY projects

POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal today chaired a comprehensive meeting to review the progress of road and bridge projects being implemented under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in different parts of the district.

At the outset, the Executive Engineer PMGSY presented a detailed status report on both completed and ongoing road and bridge works. The Deputy Commissioner undertook a project-wise and division-wise evaluation of the implementation status.

While reviewing the progress, the DC directed the executing agencies to expedite the pace of work and ensure timely completion of all projects, in line with the 100 percent target set by the Government for the current financial year. He stressed upon the elimination of avoidable delays and instructed officials to maintain strict adherence to quality standards to ensure the creation of long-lasting infrastructure.

He reiterated that improved rural connectivity is vital for socio-economic development and emphasized that the benefits of these projects must reach the grassroots.

The meeting was attended by the Executive Engineer PMGSY, Assistant Executive Engineers (AEEs) and Assistant Engineers (AEs) of the department.
