JAMMU: Dr Rohit Lahori, a renowned pain specialist posted at Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, has brought major recognition to Jammu and Kashmir by becoming the first examiner from the Union Territory for the prestigious Fellowship of Indian Academy of Pain Medicine (FIAPM) program.

He served as an examiner at the FIAPM evaluation held at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad on July 27, marking a significant milestone for the region in the field of pain medicine. The invitation reflects Dr Lahori's national reputation and expertise in pain management.

In addition to his academic role, Dr Lahori also presented the upcoming budget of the Indian Society for Study of Pain (ISSP) during its mid-term meeting. Earlier this year, in February 2025, he became the first pain specialist from J&K to be elected as the National treasurer of the ISSP.

His dual role in education and organizational leadership underscores his contributions to advancing pain medicine in India, both clinically and administratively.
