POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Vikas Kundal today chaired a review meeting to assess the implementation of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and Jammu & Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement of Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP) in the district.
The meeting aimed to strengthen inter-sectoral coordination and ensure the timely and effective execution of key government initiatives to benefit the farming community.
During the session, officers from various departments presented updates on the physical and financial progress under HADP, along with their future action plans. Discussions also focused on enhancing agricultural productivity, promoting allied sectors such as fisheries, floriculture, sericulture, and strengthening the overall agricultural economy in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner held detailed deliberations on the status of major schemes like KCC, KKG, Daksh Kisan. He reviewed the set targets, achievements so far, and identified implementation gaps. He directed the concerned departments to take proactive measures to bridge any deficiencies and ensure maximum acceptance of application and farmer coverage under these schemes.
Highlighting the importance of a collaborative approach, the Deputy Commissioner stressed on inter-departmental coordination, robust field-level monitoring, and direct farmer engagement to realize the goals of sustainable and inclusive agricultural development.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, District Sericulture Officer, Assistant Director Fisheries, Assistant Floriculture Officer, Area Grading and Marketing Officer, and the District Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Poonch. |
