DODA: As part of the ongoing nationwide enrollment drive under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) from July 15 to 31, officials from Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women (HEW) organized a comprehensive awareness and registration session here at Anganwadi Centres Thondwa and Faridabad.
The drive was held under the directions of District Social Welfare Officer Tariq Qazi, aiming to educate and enroll pregnant and lactating women for the scheme's financial and nutritional benefits.
During the session, detailed guidance was provided on early registration-preferably within the first trimester-to ensure eligible beneficiaries receive full support.
Participants were sensitized about the importance of a balanced diet rich in iron, calcium, and folic acid, the need for adequate rest, and the significance of institutional deliveries and timely vaccinations.
The initiative highlighted the value of safe motherhood practices and the role of preventive care in reducing maternal health risks.
To support smooth implementation, Anganwadi Workers from both centres received training on the technical aspects of registering beneficiaries on the PMMVY portal.
The hands-on session aimed to enhance real-time data updating and ensure proper documentation and tracking of services under the scheme. The training also enabled workers to become more effective in community outreach and service delivery.
Aligned with the objectives of Mission Shakti and Mission Poshan, the drive emphasized strengthening healthcare services at the grassroots level. By focusing on early intervention, community education, and inter-departmental collaboration, the PMMVY awareness and enrollment campaign has contributed meaningfully to improving maternal and child health outcomes, empowering rural women and building a healthier society in the region. |
