Two dead, as many injured as landslide hits Reasi after overnight rains

REASI: Following overnight rainfall that triggered a landslide, two persons, including a JCB operator, died on the spot and two others sustained injuries, while five people were rescued after a landslide hit the tent they were sleeping in at Badera area of Mahore in Reasi district on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.

Police sources said, two persons died on the spot, two others sustained injuries, and five were rescued after a landslide hit the Badera area of Mahore in Reasi district.

Police said, Ravi Kumar (23) son of Parshotam Kumar resident of Kharwa Man Tallai Udhampur and Rashpul Singh (26) son of Suba Ram resident of Bana Tehsil Chassana died on spot.

They said that two person identified as Bansi Lal(55) son of Mir Chand (62) son of Ishar Das (62) got injuries during night hours at Shiv Guffa, Badora in Mahore area due to landslide caused by heavy rainfall.

They said that two persons, identified as Bansi Lal (55), son of Mir Chand, son of Ishar Das (62), sustained injuries during the night at Shiv Guffa, Badera in the Mahore area due to a landslide caused by heavy rainfall. Adding that the injured were retrieved from debris and shifted to nearby Hospital.

They added that five persons were rescued and the bodies of the deceased were retrieved.
