Arrangements for Independence Day celebration reviewed at Shopian

DC directs meticulous arrangements that reflects national pride and spirit of civic responsibility, inclusivity

SHOPIAN: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta today chaired a meeting of officers to discuss arrangements for the upcoming celebrations of Independence Day in the district.

In the meeting, various facilities to be put in place at the District Police Line Shopian, finalized as the main function venue, were discussed threadbare and responsibilities were fixed among the concerned departments to ensure the impactful celebration of the national festival.

Adequate and proper arrangements including PAS, uninterrupted power supply with back up, potable water facility, refreshments, sanitation, traffic, seating, healthcare, fire services, decoration, illumination, logistical and security services arrangements were deliberated upon and fixed among concerned departments.

DC instructed officers of all concerned departments to ensure fool proof and advance arrangements for the celebrations at the district level venue and other prominent places across the district.

Flag hoisting functions shall be held across the district at subdivision, tehsil levels and other offices of the government.

The meeting was attended by SSP, Shopian, Anayat Ali; ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone; ADC, Dr.Zakir Hussain Faaz; officers of line departments besides officers of CRPF and RR.
