Stolen bus recovered within 24 hours

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Jammu's Akhnoor area claimed they have recovered a stolen passenger bus within 24 hours of the reporting of the crime.

On July 16, one Bharat Bhushan son of Krishan Lal of Sungal Morh, Akhnoor, lodged a complaint at Police Station Akhnoor, alleging theft of his bus (JK02BK-0346) from the Akhnoor area, a police official said.

Acting promptly, he said, a case under the relevant sections of the law was registered and a special team led by Inspector Sanjeev Chib, SHO Akhnoor, was constituted to trace the missing vehicle.

He said following intensive and coordinated efforts, the team successfully traced the stolen bus from the Patoli area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Domana.

The police official said further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the individuals involved in the theft.
