District level RSETI Advisory Committee meeting held at Kulgam

KULGAM: A district level RSETI Advisory Committee (DLRAC) meeting for the 4th Quarter of financial year 2024-25 and overall performance for the financial 24-25 was today held at Mini- Secretariat Kulgam, to review the performance of the J&K Bank Rural Self Employment Training Institute Kulgam.

At the outset, Director, RSETI, through a PowerPoint presentation presented the progress of RSETI Kulgam during the 1st quarter of FY 2025-26. He informed the meeting that RSETI Kulgam has imparted training to 1028 candidates during the last FY, 2024-25 and the settlement ratio is 67% percent and credit linkage 56%.

Addressing the occasion, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan, who is also Chairman DLRAC stressed upon banks as well as sponsoring agencies to play an active role for achieving the set targets and ensure proper follow up and settlement of trained candidates. Directions for ensuring convergence with Mission Yuva were given.

Khan on the occasion impressed upon the Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) to introduce and diversify the courses which are in consonance with recently done Mission Yuwa baseline survey and district skill development plan.

He also stressed the officers to conduct a survey of the district for a unified skill development plan and hold more and more awareness programmes to motivate the unemployed youth to generate employment for themselves and others too.

Discussions were held regarding the review of performance, an Annual Action Plan of 510 candidates in 19 different programmes and trades for FY, 2025-26 for imparting training to unemployed youth of the district for setting up self-employment ventures.

The chair was informed by Director RSETI that during the current financial year the institution is going to introduce a Rural Mason course/trade under PMAY-G where 150 masons would be professionally trained.

Chairman also reviewed the status of land allotment to RSETI at Lirow which is in the final stage of approval.

The meeting was attended by ACR, Reyaz Ah Shah; CPO, Malik Suheel; district heads of allied departments; Lead District Manager, Chief Agriculture Officer, Cluster Head J&K Bank, KVK Pombai, EDI, KVIC and other members of the committee.
